First Entry to 2025 West Cork goes up for Charity Auction!

West Cork Rally

With anticipation building, huge interest and the incredible allure of three days of Rallying along some of the finest stages in Ireland on St. Patrick's Weekend, its fair to say that interest in the 2025 West Cork Rally is set to be at fever pitch already, but we have news.

The VERY FIRST ENTRY for the 2025 Clonakilty Park Hotel West Cork Rally is set to be auctioned off, with all the proceeds going to a variety of local charities! The auction is to take place as part of the Billy Coleman Celebration Evening, taking place at the Rochestown Park Hotel on February 15th.

One of the finest driving talents Ireland has ever produced, the 'Millstreet Maestro' was a true star who dominated Irish & British Rallying through the 1970's and 80's, and to this day the achievements of Billy Coleman are still fondly remembered, perhaps none more so than his 1974 British Rally Championship success.

The West Cork Rally entry to be auctioned has been provided by Cork Motor Club, and the winning bidder will have the golden ticket to the Rally event of the year come March 14-16th in Clonakilty, with a guaranteed spot on the entry list secured before the real scramble begins with Entries opening the following day.

The proceeds of the auction will go to a trio of local charities hand picked by Billy himself, namely Millstreet Community Hospital, Millstreet Day Care Centre and Marymount Hospice.

Bidding can be done in three ways;

The 2024 Clonakilty Park Hotel West Cork Entry was massively over subscribed, so this is the perfect opportunity to beat the crowds. The 2025 event will kick off on March 14th with four stages, two of which will be under the cover of darkness, with eight stages on Saturday and six stages on the Sunday, all within close proximity of Clonakilty.

For Billy, this is an incredible centre piece of the Auction on the night as the West Cork Rally is one that evokes great memories including winning the very first event alongside John Caplice in 1977, and returning to the top of the podium in 1980 this time guided by Brendan Neville before returning multiple times in course cars to wow his adoring fans.
